limited edition jonathan yeo wallpaper
The wallpaper began as a spin off from the leaf collage works and was first commissioned for the Up Against the Wall exhibition at the Ileana Tounta Contemporary Art Center, Athens, in 2009. The traditional looking motifs on the wallpaper further disguises the sexual content of the leaves, reinforcing the notion Yeo aims to express through these collaged works; pornographic imagery is so prolific in our society, we barely notice is it anymore, even though we are completely surrounded by it.
It was later commissioned by Soho House to decorate their clubs in London, Berlin and Los Angeles. More recently a version of it was used at the cover for Mariella Frostrup’s anthology of erotic literature, Desire.
