yorkshire! achioevement, grit and controversy
beningborough hall, saloon gallery
5th march 2019 - 3rd november 2019
Jonathan Yeo’s 2010 portrait of Sir Michael Parkinson was included in a 2019 exhibition of Yorkshire’s “game changers, rebels and influencers”.
With 25 portraits and sculptures exhibited – including some by Yorkshire’s Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth and David Hockney - on loan from the National Portrait Gallery, the Arts Council Collection and York Art Gallery this was Beningbrough Hall’s biggest and boldest exhibition to date. The fascinating display sat alongside narratives and interactives delving into the stories behind the people, their highs and their lows.
